Data and methodology
Source and coverage
Rates come from Frankfurter v2. Its default feed combines central-bank and official-source observations; documented pegs may be used for pegged currencies. Currensa uses that composite feed, rather than describing every quote as ECB data.
Calculation
The snapshot stores rates against a common USD base. A conversion from A to B divides the USD-to-B rate by the USD-to-A rate. The reverse uses the reciprocal. For the same currency, the rate is exactly 1.
Dates and rounding
Reference dates are shown with each conversion. Different currencies may use different observation dates; this is not a synchronized executable quote. Weekends, holidays and source publication schedules affect freshness. Historical comparisons use observations available on matching dates. Amounts use the currency's usual decimal precision, with extra precision for very small results.
Updates and availability
Pages include a saved snapshot and can request a newer feed in the browser. If that request fails, the calculator explicitly labels the saved data. Regenerate the static site daily to keep its initial HTML current. Historical coverage may be incomplete; unavailable trends are stated explicitly.
Fees and limitations
Reference rates exclude spreads and fees. Fee illustrations deduct a hypothetical 1% markup and 2 units of the receiving currency, with a minimum of zero. They do not represent an offer. No result is investment advice or a promise of an available trading rate.
